MSW Candidate (She/Her) • Psychotherapist
Destiney is here to meet you where you’re at–from flexible day-to-day situations to permanent life circumstances. Destiney is a second-year Master of Social Work student at the University of Georgia. She has worked with adults who struggle with trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, and grief/the dying process. She has also worked closely with individuals who are differently abled and/or neurodiverse. Destiney utilizes an eclectic therapeutic approach that integrates modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) techniques, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), somatic therapy techniques, and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
Destiney uses a strengths-based approach to highlight a client's assets while providing space to discuss potential areas for growth. She emphasizes the importance of an individualized therapeutic experience tailored to the client's preferences, goals, and unique characteristics. These preferences may include but are not limited to sessions that are non-verbal, excluding eye contact, and/or conducted via telehealth.
“Although it is impossible to truly understand what it is like to be in your shoes, I have spent my fair share of time in the client chair. My goal is to keep your best interests in mind during the therapeutic journey. Therapy can be a powerful tool used to explore thought patterns, set realistic goals, create healthy boundaries, and increase your overall fulfillment in life–whatever that means for you.”
